Hemingway Editor hold true to its namesake and promises to make writing bold and clear by eliminating unnecessary language and simplifying wordy sentences. Sentences highlighted in yellow need to be split up or shortened, red highlights mean that the sentence is dense, complicated, and sure to cause readers confusion. The tool makes a point to cut out passive language, limit the usage of adverbs, and notify the writer when a simpler alternative to a word or phrase is available.
