AgencySparks knew from the very beginning that we’d need to find a reliable conference calling tool that wouldn’t break the bank. We tried a few free services and platforms that, unfortunately, rendered less-than-stellar solutions for our needs.
Launched in 2012 by Evite co-founder John Bracken, Speek’s differentiator is providing simple conference calling with no dial-ins, pins, or downloads.
Simply create an account, and Speek generates a customized URL that you can send to anyone. Ours, for example, is: www.speek.com/AgencySparks.
From there, your recipient(s) can choose from two paths of engagement: join the call via their phone, or join the call via their computer:
Simply enter your phone number, click “Call My Phone,” and the conference call comes to you! (If you’re old-school, fear not –– Speek also provides a phone number and PIN.)
Speek’s computer-based conference calling service features visual indicators to show who’s talking, in addition to screen sharing, file sharing, call recording, and instant messaging.
After the call wraps, Speek sends an email recap of the call data and analytics (attendees, call length, who spoke the most, etc.)
The most basic plan is free, but if you’re using Speek for large or mid-sized business purposes, you may want to consider a free 14-day trial before spending the $19/user per month paid in lump sum annually, or the $24/user per month paid in monthly installments.
